EBI Resources and Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee Discuss Hotels and Direct Air Links

Indonesia–Uzbekistan tourism ties continue to deepen. On 10 September 2026, EBI Resources CEO Erslan G. Ibrahim met Abdulaziz Akkulov, chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, to discuss investment and cooperation — from Indonesian hotels and restaurants to the prospect of direct flights to Samarkand and Bukhara.

The talks also addressed how more Indonesian travellers might visit Uzbekistan. Projects discussed included Hadith Hotel at the Imam Bukhari complex in Samarkand and Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia. Both sides considered a familiarization tour for Indonesian travel-industry figures, to introduce Uzbekistan’s destinations — especially religious and cultural travel — at first hand.

Cooperation then turned to promotion and communications. Deputy chairman S. Tadjiev met Iwel Sastra to discuss introducing Uzbekistan to Indonesian audiences through media, influencers, events, concerts, and religious-tourism promotion. The Government of Uzbekistan is preparing a survey of Indonesian traveller interest and has proposed a press tour for Indonesian influencers. The EBI Resources delegation was also invited to the Tashkent International Tourism Fair (TITF-2026).
